Best SAFE MLO Exam Prep 2026: An Honest Comparison
First: prep is not the required course
The SAFE Act requires at least 20 hours of NMLS-approved pre-licensing education (3 hours federal law, 3 hours ethics, 2 hours nontraditional mortgage lending) to get a state MLO license (12 U.S.C. §5104(c)). Some states require more. Exam prep products, including ours, are extra practice for the test and do not count toward those hours.
